"Dear God" Lyrics- XTC *I love Sarah Mc version:)

Dear god, hope you get the letter and...
I pray you can make it better down here
I don't mean a big reduction in the price of beer
But all the people that you made in your image
See them starving in the street
'Cause they don't get enough to eat from god
I can't believe in you

Dear god, sorry to disturb you but...
I feel that I should be heard loud and clear
We all need a big reduction in amount of tears
And all the people that you made in your image
See them fighting in the street
'Cause they can't make opinions meet about god
I can't believe in you

Did you make disease and the diamond blue?
Did you make mankind after we made you?
And the devil too!

Dear god don't know if you noticed but...
Your name is on a lot of quotes in this book
And us crazy humans wrote it, you should take a look
And all the people that you made in your image
still believing that junk is true
Well I know it ain't, and so do you
Dear god
I can't believe in
I don't believe

I won't believe in heaven or hell
No saints, no sinners, no devil as well
No pearly gates, no thorny crown
You're always letting us humans down
The wars you bring, the babes you drown
Those lost at sea and never found
And it's the same the whole world 'round
The hurt I see helps to compound
That father, son and holy ghost
Is just somebody's unholy hoax
And if you're up there you'll perceive
That my heart's here upon my sleeve
If there's one thing I don't believe in

It's you
Dear god

Whatever your belief: God/Buddha/Allah/NADA:) The recent catastrophe in Japan really reminded me of this song. As many of you know, I am a member of a church of my own making. Maybe you've heard of it...The Temple of Tam? :) I call my life path/religion "Zen." I think the way to true happiness is inner peace. I think that's what we all desperately seek. Many find it in religion. I haven't found mine there yet. So, in amateur detective fashion, I take what pieces of "wisdom" or "inspiration" from wherever I can find it. :)

SO, here's where you guys come in...where do you find your inner peace?? AND, for the "God" people:)...do you have the same questions as the song? If so, how do you reconcile them?? This could make for a great discussion if you guys will respond! ;)

Hey, guys! Just wanted to provide a little update as to my goings on as of late:) Well, as you probably saw on twitter, FB, or heard through text and/or phone call, I rented a studio/gallery downtown. Studio 207 on Main (right across from our HISTORIC courthouse:) We aren't officially open yet, and I'm not sure when we WILL just yet. As of now, all the artists are still moving in, and we're trying to get some things together for the gallery. I will link to some pics:)
ALSO, I'm totally revamping my website, so www.thetlhgallery.com might not be up for a few days; HOWEVER, I'm hoping it won't be down long, and when it comes back, I hope to have a lot more stuff to show! I'm really liking the new workspace so far, and I can't wait to get to hang out with some of the other artists and learn a thing or two!!:) Thanks for reading!! Hope ya like the pics:)

Big news on The TLH front! I've just signed the lease on my new studio downtown. I'm really excited about it! We're just starting to move in, and the gallery isn't officially open yet, but I will send further updates soon! Stay tuned!! :)

The holiday season at The TLH Gallery :)

How to Follow and Comment on this Blog:)

I'm new to blogging, as I've learned some of you are, so I don't feel so dumb:) SO, I decided to write a little instructional note to help out! (See...we're learning together again! Told ya that's what this blog's about!:)

1- To the left side of the screen you will see an icon that says, "Follow." Click that.

2- A box will open with several ID options (Twitter, Google, AIM, Yahoo, Netlog,
OpenID). If you are reading this, you have at LEAST one of these accounts:)

3- Select which account you wish to use. Click that button. (Ex: Click Twitter:)

4- Sign into the account you chose.

That's it! You're a "follower." You are NOW prepared to...COMMENT!

At the bottom of each blog entry, there is a box marked "Comment." Oddly enough, if you click on that button? A box pops up and allows you to enter your idea! (This of course provides that you are already a "follower" and "signed in." You can also play with the widgets like "share" or check "funny" or whatever...:)

Lastly, if you see a particular post you would like to keep track of comments about or to the blog just in general, you can "subscribe," and when new comments are entered, you will be informed by e mail (or sign up for the feed).

I think that covers the basics?? If you need further assistance, don't hesitate to ask. I might not know the answer, but I can find out:)
